Shortlisting
A Resettlement Development Officer reviews your application against the scheme's eligibility criteria.
Interview
Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview before the Land Allocation Committee.
Plot Allocation
Successful applicants are allocated a surveyed plot within an open resettlement scheme.
Occupancy & Title
An occupancy letter is issued on settlement, followed by the title recommendation process.

The Principal Land Resettlement Officer reviews the report and makes a recommendation.

A Senior Land Use Planner checks the recommendation against land-use records.
Approval & Letter
The Director approves the recommendation and your title recommendation letter is issued.

Zambian citizens aged 21 and above are eligible to apply for land allocation. Former refugees with Alien Cards ending in /3 are also eligible. Organisations registered in Zambia may also apply.
The field assessment and review process typically takes 4–8 weeks for land allocation and 6–12 weeks for title recommendations. You will be notified via the contact details you provide.
For land allocation you need your NRC or Alien Card, a passport-size photo, and proof of payment. Zambians living abroad also need a VISA or residential permit. For title recommendations you need your NRC, offer letter, development report, and passport photo.
The application itself is free. There may be nominal administrative fees for documentation and land surveying after approval, but these are communicated to you before any payment is required.
Yes. Zambian citizens living abroad are eligible to apply for land allocation. You will need to provide a valid VISA or residential permit for your country of residence.
Your application is assigned to a Resettlement Development Officer who conducts a field assessment. It is then reviewed at headquarters before a final decision is made by the Director or Permanent Secretary.
